Jenn, just so you know if you are driving down the pass you are already on earth, you would plumet down the mountain.
The reason they do not use salt on the roads is to keep Mr. Moose, Mr. Elk and Mr. Deer of the road as they love salt! Just a little info for your blog.
Ah ha! Thank you for correcting the flaw in my description of earth plummetting - 'tis true that I would be in contact with said earth already - perhaps I should have gone the "airborne" route. Hm.
I figured the lack of salt was an environmental thing - in this case, trying to be friendly to the local fauna. However, my mention of the lack of it as compared to MN was just that - a comparison.
Adapt and adjust, I always say.... off to buy those snow tires!
